6cry 1801
This is one of the finest peridot crystals that I've had available. It has outstanding color, a good termination, and is very gemmy within. While the crystal faces are not crystal clear, they are very transparent and do allow you to see within the crystal. Many of these peridot crystals from Pakistan have a more frosted/etched face to the terminations. The large size holds in the luscious green color, which is truly extraordinary and definitely could be considered the finest color in peridot.
This is one of those crystals that I had a difficult time deciding whether I should keep for my personal collection, cut into faceted gemstones (which could potentially be more profitable), or offer it for sale. I've decided to offer it as a natural crystal and enjoy it until it sells. If you're looking for a great peridot crystal, this is it.
If it were to be cut, our cutter estimates that there could potentially be three cut gems that would have a total weight of 45 carats of faceted gems within. They wouldn't be totally clean, but often times with this material, the needles are very difficult to see and would probably not have much effect in the finished gems. Note: Estimating yield from a piece of rough is not an exact science, so the finished gem weights could vary depending on the cutter and if there are any hidden issues that arise when cutting.
