6cry 2875
A vibrant Ethiopian opal displaying strong play-of-color with flashes of electric green, fiery orange, and vivid red across a translucent body. The color distribution is broad and dynamic, with large patches of bright color that shift beautifully under different lighting angles.
This piece retains part of its natural matrix along one side, adding character and making it an appealing specimen as well as a versatile piece of rough. The material shows excellent potential for cabbing, carving, or even select faceting depending on orientation, with areas of strong color concentration that could yield striking finished stones.
A well-balanced opal that works equally well as a display specimen or as a creative cutting opportunity.
Please Note: Ethiopian opals are hydrophane and can absorb moisture. Water exposure (including during cutting) may temporarily affect their appearance, but as the stone dries, its color will naturally return over time. These opals should be stored in a dry environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to oils or chemicals, as oils can be absorbed and may permanently affect the appearance.
