Fluorescent Blue Prehnite from Tanzania – 8.94 grams

    1 item left

Unique prehnite specimen displaying a soft, pale blue color in normal lighting with a clustered crystal structure and layered growth. The surface shows a silky to slightly waxy luster, typical of prehnite, with subtle translucency throughout the piece. This piece also as a unique hole in one of the sides, which under a microscope you can find a small crystal growing within! Very cool!

Under longwave UV light, this specimen transforms dramatically—glowing a vivid electric blue fluorescence that highlights the internal structure and gives the entire piece a striking, almost neon appearance. This strong fluorescence adds an extra dimension, making it especially appealing for collectors who appreciate reactive minerals.

Unlike this piece, Prehnite commonly forms in botryoidal aggregates and is valued for its calm color palette, but fluorescent examples like this are far less commonly encountered.
